Doing my bit

Pink SolioI’m pondering investing in a Solio to charge the array of gadgets I own. I’m quite taken with the bright pink one but it’s not in stock at the moment. They charge mobile phones, PDA’s, digital cameras and there’s a PSP adapter in development. So I figure I could use it to charge the following:

  • Motorola PEBL
  • O.H.’s Nokia
  • Palm TX
  • iPod

Ideally I’d also like to be able to charge my walkie talkie, batteries for remote controls and my xBox controllers. So maybe some kind of USB battery charger that possibly can be hooked up to the solio would be the way forward here.

Another reason not to shop at Morrisons

Morrisons grapesWe have a fair number of supermarkets in Malvern: two Sommerfields, a Waitrose, a Co-op and a Morrisons. The Morrisons used to be Safeway. Safeway did fantastic stuffed crust pizzas (sigh) which dissappeared when Morrisons bought them out. Surprising as the pizzas would fit into the Morrisons categories.

Anyway, the trip before my amazing discovery–which would have been the 13th of July–I picked up some grapes. I sat down to watch Batman on TV on saturday (15th July ) afternoon and thought I’d have some of those grapes. Imagine my disgust when I found what looked like Shelob’s lair nestled amongst them. You can clearly see in the photo the display until date says the 15th. Thats not even a use by date. I think I need to modify my shopping habbits to avoid buying fresh food from Morrisons and just stick to the things in cans with halflifes of several hundred years. It’s the only way to avoid the cobweb of doom scenario.

Drinks! (of the nonalcaholic variety)

A couple of years ago Robinsons did a really nice cherry cordial drink which I’ve been unable to find anywhere for years. I was shopping in Morrisons at the weekend (not an experience I’d recommend) and found some Robinsons Apple, Cherry and Raspberry cordial. This is the nearest I’d come to finding the cherry drink I loved so I thought I’d give it a go.

My review of Robinsons Apple, Cherry and Raspberry

It’s f***ing lovely. Go and buy some.

I even braved Morrisons again the next day and bought two more bottles. Just in case they decide not to sell it as it doesn’t fall into any of these categories.

Don’t wear out the music

My roundtrip jouney time to work is an hour and a half, unsupprisingly I get through a lot of music in this time. I love finding some new album (not necessarily new-new, just new to my ears new) that makes me want to turn it up. Sometimes an album won’t leave my stereo for a week.

To my constant annoyance I tend to wear out an album by playing it constantly and then like an old magazine it gets filed away. I wish I could stop doing this.
